Talking Taco Music put out its first cassette, Ritual Mesa, in 1988. It was the first of many Native American inspired releases. In many cases our artists have built sizeable word-of-mouth followings. Someone will run across a CD in a gift store while on vacation, bring it home and tell their friends about this great new music they found.

In the mid-1900s Talking Taco also started releasing Latin music with roots mostly in the Southwest and Mexico. Since then our selections have included popular Tex-Mex music, innovative flamenco guitar and our internationally-acclaimed series of CDs focusing on the Virgin of Guadalupe.
