Ben Bowen King
with Frank Corrales
Experience the unique history of
“The Shrine of Texas Liberty” as
reflected in the music played at the
Alamo during the past 300 years.
Music includes examples of songs
probably heard by the Alamo
defenders, on instruments of the
era. There are also many examples
of music from the Republic of Texas,
Native Americans who lived at the
Alamo, San Antonio’s early
Spanish/Canary Island settlers,
cowboys and Mexican settlers.
Ben
Bowen King has enthralled Alamo
visitors for years with his
performances of Alamo-related music
on a variety of
historically-accurate” instruments
such as banjos made out of gourds,
Irish tin whistles, Native American
flutes and guitar. For more
information about Ben’s
presentations, which have been
featured everywhere from Swedish TV
to PBS, contact him at
